Physiotherapy

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What exactly is physiotherapy?
The purpose of physiotherapy is to restore, maintain, and optimise your mobility, function, and health after any kind of injury, surgery or other medical problems. During a physical therapy visit, the therapist asks the patient if they are having any pain problems and then checks those areas. From there, you'll get the care and a plan to make sure your injury gets better and doesn't happen again. Depending on your situation, you might have to go more than once.
  • What are the most common problems physiotherapists have to deal with?
Most of the injuries that physiotherapists fix are sports injuries. Many of them are sprains and strains of joints and muscles. The next type of injury is a tendon or overuse injury.
  • When do I need to go to a physiotherapist?
Whenever you are referred by a doctor to visit a physiotherapist, you must visit him. Or, even without any such referral, if you are injured or having pain, you can seek guidance from a physiotherapist. People often use over-the-counter pain relievers and ointments when they are in pain and have trouble getting around. We don't usually go to rehab unless our doctor tells us to or if the pain is too much to bear. But physiotherapists are trained experts who help people who have been hurt get their full range of motion back. When you work with a physiotherapist, your injury heals faster, and you often feel less pain and have more range of motion than before you got hurt. If you think you have a small injury but are still hurting after 48 hours, you should talk to a physiotherapist. If you think the pain is getting worse, call the doctor right away. Make an appointment with a physiotherapist if you have been in pain for a long time or if you can't move around as much as you'd like.
  • Can you visit a physiotherapist without a referral from a doctor?
Physiotherapists are primary care providers who don't need a recommendation from a doctor. Like doctors, they can look at an injury and figure out how to treat it.
  • How long does a session of physiotherapy last?
Depending on your health, most sessions last between 30 and 60 minutes. If you need more help, your physiotherapist will tell you how long each lesson will be.
  • What does a physiotherapist do to help me get better?
Physiotherapists are trained to help and care for people of all ages who are having trouble with movement, pain, speech, cognitive, musculoskeletal, or mental health. They can help people deal with their problems so they can live as normally as possible.
  • What should I wear when I go to physiotherapy?
Your Physiotherapist needs to be able to see what part of your body hurts. Shorts and a T-shirt make it easy to get to many problem areas, like broken arms or legs.
  • Is physical exercise painful?
It shouldn't hurt too much to get the treatment. Even if it takes more effort to feel signs in some cases, a patient should never be in unbearable pain. If you are in pain, please tell your doctor.
  • Does physiotherapy help?
Yes, of course. Physiotherapy is a proven medical science backed by detailed studies and research.
  • How often do I need to go to my physical therapist?
Most of the time, you'll keep going to physiotherapy until you've reached the goals you and your physio have set. As time goes on, you'll have less and less time between talks. If you stop too soon, the damage can go in the wrong direction and get worse.
  • Do I really need to go to physical therapy?
The short answer is, yes. You should see a physiotherapist if you have pain or soreness every day. Most likely, the pain is caused by something deeper. A physiotherapist can find out what it is and fix it so it doesn't happen again. You might gain from seeing a physiotherapist even if you are not hurt. They are experts in movement and can help you avoid hurting yourself more.
